○ WHY CERTIFY
Non è marketing. È requisito d'accesso.
In textile B2B, certification is not added value: it is a condition of entry. Nyfil's international customers — underwear manufacturers, technical hosiery brands, weaving mills for the medical sector — have to demonstrate compliance with ever stricter regulations themselves. If the incoming yarn has no traceable certifications, the customer's whole supply chain stops.
That is why Nyfil has built, over time, a system of three independent and complementary certifications — one for each level of the chain. Together they cover the product we ship, the process by which we make it, and the material we start from.

○ STANDARD 100
The strictest classification: Class I.
What it certifies
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the world's most widely used testing system for harmful substances in textiles and yarns. Every certified product is tested in independent international laboratories against more than 300 parameters, including banned dyes, carcinogenic amines, phthalates, formaldehyde, heavy metals and pesticides.
Nyfil's class
Class I — the most restrictive classification, reserved for products intended for skin contact with babies and infants (0-3 years). A yarn that passes the Class I test automatically meets the requirements of all lower classes (Class II, III, IV).
What it means for you
Nyfil yarns can be used in any textile application without further checks: underwear, medical hosiery, compression stockings, baby products, healthcare textiles. No regulatory concerns anywhere downstream of you.

○ STeP
Not only the product: the process too.
What it certifies
STeP (Sustainable Textile & Leather Production) is the OEKO-TEX certification for the sustainability of the production plant. It does not look at the yarn — it looks at how you make it. This is the level of scrutiny international brands require from their suppliers.
The six modules assessed
Chemical management, environmental performance (water, energy, emissions, waste), workplace safety, social responsibility, quality management, worker health and safety. Each module is audited and scored numerically.
What it means for you
You are not only buying a safe yarn. You are buying a yarn made in a traceable, audit-ready plant, with environmental and social documentation available at any time for your own internal compliance.

○ GRS
Recycled material, traced.
What it certifies
GRS (Global Recycled Standard), issued by Textile Exchange, is the international certification for recycled content in textile products. It verifies four dimensions: chain of custody of the materials, recycled content, social and environmental requirements of production, and chemical restrictions.
What it covers at Nyfil
Our GRS certificate covers polyamide 6 and polyamide 6.6 yarns made from pre-consumer recycled material, in counts from 44 to 111 dtex (40-100 den), in standard and Flexy constructions. Every batch is fully traceable from raw material to finished package, with a Transaction Certificate accompanying the shipment.
What it means for you
Sustainability that is declared and verifiable with official documentation. Useful for your brand's ESG compliance, for EU reporting obligations (CSRD), and for audited green positioning.
